For the number 89 what is the closest integer value the log-base-10 lies between?

really need answer and explain if possible/still getting the hang of this/math using logarithms etc|||2.

log_10 of a number is the power of 10 you raise the number to. For instance:

10^1 = 10 ... so log_10(10) = 1

10^2 = 100 ... so log_10(100) = 2

10^3 = 1000 ... so log_10(1000) = 3

and so on.

89 is between 10 and 100, but a lot closer to 100.

So log_10(79) is a little below 2.
