What am i supposed to do when asked to estimate the value of log(base 4) of 24?

log4 24 with a subtext 4...how do I estimate the value without a calculator?|||Use the change of base rule... it's equal to log24 / log 4 = 2.29248125036|||you need to think about 24 = 4^x and try to deduce a reasonable answer for x { note: since you only ask for an estimate then any number is valid...12, -5 ,蟺, or 鈭?...that is the question is rather bad...reasonable estimate is from a math standpoint no better...math tries to deal with preciseness}...anyway x = 2 {16} is not large enough while x = 3 { 64} is too large...since the log function tends to flatten the guess x = 2.3 is probably not too bad|||it's like asking 4 to the power of what = 24
